MARKETING AND MEDIA SPECIALIST

McQuilling is seeking qualified experienced candidates to fill the McQuilling Services position of Marketing & Media Specialist in the Garden City, New York office.

The individual will be primarily responsible for brand management, marketing, social media, on-line presence and publications.  In this role, the individual will:

• Manage Company’s brand globally, including ensuring brand standards are being met and creating communication materials such as brochures and presentations;
• Manage Company’s intranet with useful branding materials, training videos, etc.
• Develop internal quarterly Company newsletters;
• Manage client relationships– invoicing, subscriptions, market inquiries, distribution list management, email marketing;
• Cultivate leads and sales through digital marketing efforts;
• Develop social media marketing campaigns using Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube and other channels as appropriate;
• Develop relevant content topics to reach the company’s target clients through social media;
• Create, curate and manage all original published social media content in coordination with McQuilling Services analysts (original text, images, video, podcasts);
• Develop and analyze key web/social media metrics on a periodic basis to maintain effective, ongoing strategies;
• Carry out daily maintenance of Company website including developing ideas for redesign and increasing functionality;
• Assist in production of Company publications including cover and content designing, formatting, assembling and copy editing
• Write, edit and publish weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
• Manage Company’s internship program including hiring, training and overseeing daily activities in support of the above.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience working in fields related to the job description. They will be able to learn information systems applications to a point of strong proficiency and be versed in internet navigation skills.  The individual will be self-starting, objectives-oriented, highly productive, process-oriented and take pride and ownership in their work.  The individual will be comfortable in front of an audience or camera.  They will possess strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills to operate effectively in an international, multi-cultural environment.

Minimum qualifications for this position are well-developed written and oral communication skills; well-organized and documented work processes, project management and supervision abilities and a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.  An engaged, continuously improving approach to job responsibilities is prerequisite for the position.

Interns will be exposed to a vast array of shipping markets as well their related documents and research materials. Supply across the tanker sectors and global demand for the transportation of petroleum products are vital components to the Services department’s research development. Interns are expected to develop a general level of understanding of the following:

• McQuilling Services Tanker Shipping Seminar
• Trade Map and Freight Markets
• Proprietary Data Management Systems

The intern will be tasked with routine day-to-day responsibilities during their stay with us or be assigned a project or a combination of both. The following lists some of those duties that should be expected by the intern. Additional duties will be time and situational dependent, in line with current research, commercial advisory services, and publication requirements at McQuilling Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Collect data and process daily through industry-leading proprietary databases 
• Build supply and demand models to analyze oil and tanker markets, including regression, DCF, WACC, PV, etc.
• Conduct ad hoc research to support the production of weekly reports and monthly reports
