Core Functions

• Pre-Fixture
  • Prepare Owners offers for submission to Chrtrs email or online portals
  • Send and receive counters / comments from Chrtrs / Owns in a timely manner
  • Facilitate and mediate between ship owners and charterers and act as intermediary to enable clean fix a vessel to charterers for a firm business.
  • Exchange Preliminaries, Quotes, Particulars of proposed vessels and firm offers during the progress of the trade
  • To record the progress and details of negotiations in a communication trail and ensure principals understanding and confirmation on this in explicit terms.
  • Exchange a preliminary recapitulation (recap) or Fixture Note between all parties summarizing the main terms agreement.
  • Closely follow up during the subject’s time with nomination and clearance of the vessel.
  • A final Clean Fixture recapitulation (recap) should be exchanged between all parties summarizing the final CP agreement.
• Market Reporting
  • Send out intro mails to potential clients
  • Send cargo enquiries / quotes to Owners by email and other communication channels
  • Prepare market reports that keep the principals engaged
  • Track cargo, company, and shipping trends
  • Keep abreast of historical market trends
  • Prepare an expectation of a market using historical trends, analysis of changes between current markets and previous years and analysis of indicators that have may have caused differences
  • Current market levels, recent fixtures, volume of enquiry and volume of tonnage
  • Geopolitical, financial, economic, technological, and demographic
  • Future supply of vessels – Additions / Deletions
  • Changing costs involved in commercial operation of ships
• Position Lists/Fixtures
  • Learn and use company proprietary tools/software
  • Draw up vessel position lists and keep a look out for cargo movements of principals and propose suitable tonnages for their requirements well in time.
  • Update recent fixtures, vessels positions, new acquisitions, and asset sales
  • Update Chrtrs, Owners and vessel details in the database
• Post-Fixture
  • Track the progress of a fixture in liaison with the Operator of the vessel to ensure any declarations or addendums that may be required are communicated effectively
  • Monitor delays and operational concerns that may be relevant to the vessels next employment or have commercial significance.

Skills & Attributes

• Commercial shipping knowledge (in Chemical and Oil Tankers)
• Have good English language and communication skills
• Computer skills include high level of use Outlook / other mail clients, MS Office, ability to learn proprietary software
• Promptness to respond to emails, situations
• Availability on mobile / PC 24 x 7
• Courteous and pleasing personality to build positive relationships with clients and in house team

• Have an established network of associates in Ship Owning and Chartering companies
• Able to develop new contacts to source cargo enquiries and ship owners to service them
• Networking and business development with clients
• Analytical and logical mindset
• Carry out any other responsibilities and tasks assigned in addition to the above as required.
